Rob Nosse got his start in Oregon politics as an advocate for higher education funding. In the '90s, Rob Nosse was part of the coalition that fought against Measure 5 and Measure 50. Unfortunately, those two measures passed, and Oregon schools have been paying the price ever since.
As the proud parent of two Portland Public Schools graduates, Rob and his husband know firsthand how underfunding schools hurts kids and families.
That's why Rob voted for the Student Success Act, which raised $1 billion with a new corporate activity tax and invested all of those funds in our schools.
In 2025, Rob voted to invest $70 million in summer learning and make summer learning programs permanent. He also voted for HB 3040, which strengthened the Early Literacy Initiative.
Rob ultimately believes that we should find a way to fully fund the Quality Education Model and that the tuition and our state universities and community colleges should be either be significantly reduced or eliminated.
